However, it also relates to 'daisy' in France as the flower is associated with Saint Marguerite.

The spelling of the name comes from the French town of Margaux and the Château Margaux wine which is produced here. The story goes the name was actually created by actress and model Margaux Hemingway, granddaughter of Ernest. Christened Margot, she changed the spelling of her name to match the wine upon hearing it was what here parents were drinking the night she was conceived!
